Uncle Bob would disagree here, he states very clearly in his book "Clean Architecture" something along the lines of "architects should always be touching/writing code otherwise they can't fully understand the impact of their choices". I think it's an important point that we can miss as we zoom out in scale.

I do however, agree at the level of Enterprise Architect this will be reduced, but never writing code is a bit extreme IMHO.
